Derek is an experienced director and corporate lawyer. His experience covers a diverse range of large and small organisations in various industries.
His current positions, in addition to being Chairman of Threat Protect Australia, are:
- Chairman of Sandfire Resources NL
- Chairman of OTOC Limited
- Partner and Advisory Board Member at Lavan Legal
- Council Member AICD (WA Division)
Derek is also the chair of unlisted public company Cashmere Iron Limited. He has previously served on the boards of Katanna Capital Limited and not for profit organisations Edge Employment Solutions and The West Australian Club.
Derek is a fellow of the AICD and a mentor in the AICD’s Chair’s Mentoring Program.
Demetrios Pynes

Demetrios Pynes is a highly experienced businessman with specialist knowledge of both the finance and security industries. Mr Pynes holds a Bachelor of Commerce with double majors in finance and banking. He also has post-graduate qualifications in commerce. Mr Pynes spent several years as a banking and finance executive, during which time he was an analyst and adviser to high net-worth clients. For the past 12 years, Mr Pynes has operated various successful businesses, mainly in the security industry. He has previously held security officer and security consultant licences.
Paul Ferrara
Chief Operating Officer

A co-founder of Threat Protect, Paul in his capacity of Chief Operating Officer brings many years of experience in logistics and business. Prior to Threat Protect, Paul was assigned several roles in both Australia and Singapore for SIRVA, a global provider of transport and relocation services. With qualifications in management and information systems, specialising in telecommunications, Paul is well suited to his specialist role of integrating businesses and new opportunities into the Threat Protect group. Paul holds the security, crowd control and enquiry agent licences on behalf of Threat Protect.
Dimitri Bacopanos

Mr. Bacopanos has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, most recently as Executive Director in the Transaction Advisory Services team at EY. He has more than 20 years commercial experience in both private and ASX listed companies and has worked across a number of major transactions, including in the technology, industrial, and agriculture sectors. His expertise extends to a wide range of corporate advisory roles covering operational reviews, feasibility analyses, strategic planning and implementation.
Dennison Hambling

Dennison is the head of Public and Private Equity for 360 Capital group and has over 20 years of capital market experience. He joined 360 Capital in 2019 having been Chief Investment Officer of First Samuel Limited for 12 years. Prior to this Dennison was a portfolio manager at Cooper Investors Ltd and prior to that worked at Goldman Sachs JBWere as an analyst. Dennison started his investment career in New Zealand working with NZ Funds Management as an Australasian Equity Analyst. Dennison is currently a Non-Executive Director of a private medical business, a North American silica producer and a Director of the 360 Capital Equities Management Pty Ltd (a substantial shareholder of the Company), the manager of the 360 Capital Active Value Fund.
Peter Kennan

Peter is CEO and CIO of Black Crane Capital. The Black Crane Asia Pacific Opportunities Fund, managed by Black Crane Capital, is a substantial shareholder of the Company. Prior to founding Black Crane in 2009, Peter was a leading corporate financier with UBS Asia Pacific. He has 25 years of investment and corporate finance experience across a diverse range of sectors and transactions. With UBS, Peter was Head of Asian Industrials Group for UBS Asia, a corporate finance sector team covering energy, infrastructure, resources, consumer/retail and general industrial companies. He achieved number 1 team rating in Asia in 2006 and 2007. Peter was also the Head of Telecoms and Media sector team for UBS Australia specialising in M&A, advising on many large, complex transactions. Prior to UBS, Peter spent 7 years with BP in a variety of engineering and commercial roles. Peter is currently a Non-Executive Director of ASX listed MMA Offshore Limited.
